Default Hello, new to beagles.

New to both this forum and beagles in general.

My grandparents bred and showed Siberian Huskies. So I am not new to dogs but I have never really been a beagle person. Long story short.. I now have a beagle. His name is Max and was born on June 1. He is a purebred, even though i have not registered him. In the next month or so I plan on getting him neutered. I received him from someone who breeds beagles for rabbit hunting, but Max doesn't bay much and they thought my son may enjoy having a beagle. Of course the pup follows me and my older dog Ginger around instead. lol.

Ginger is a 3.5 year old rescue mix breed. She is not a barker and is generally just laid back about everything. I also have 4 indoor cats, which both dogs get along with.

Max at 5 months old with Gypsy (6.5 months old)

My ex-husband and I had a Siberian Husky. You will discover that Beagles are totally different from them in personality.

Hi and welcome! He is adorable. We don't have cats because I am allergic to them but the family that we got lily from had cats and sometimes I think she is a cat lol. Her favorite spot to lay is on top of the couch looking out our big picture window. She spends a great deal of time scanning the world outside just looking for something to bark at.

Thanks everyone!

Max seems to be well adjusted so far. He is showing a slow learning curve for house training. When we got Ginger she was house trained in a few days. Til then I guess i stock up on Enzyme cleaners and keep putting him outside, good thing I work from home. I so far have found 1 hole dug in the yard so this summer i hopefully can put in a sandbox for him to dig in and maybe save my vegi garden..

Besides the 4 cats and 2 dogs, I also have 2 resident strays and take in the occasional foster for my Vet. (which is how I got my last cat).

Kath - try finding a bengal breeder in your area and go sit awhile. a surprising number of people allergic to cats are not allergic to Bengals.

will post more pics when I can.
