Default Hello from Texas

My husband & I recently adopted a 1 & a half year old beagle we aptly named Aston Martin or Aston for short, because he's fast. He had major separation anxiety and restrainment issues. We're working through them and he is doing great. We started him on obedience training and he's pretty smart. He loves to shake and roll over. Those are his two favorite. We also have a 16 year old rescued dachshund mix. Both of them get along great. Even nap together.

Hey. Your dogs kind of resemble each other-even though they're different breeds.

They really do in the face. Daisy has a little bit of beagle in her, but mostly dachshund. I had her DNA tested a while back and was surprised to find beagle in her. I shoulda realized....her nose was always going...

That's what I'm seeing in her facial structure. I love the name Daisy. Last month I fostered a Chihuahua/Cocker X puppy my neighbor was unable to keep. I had her for over 3 weeks and had wanted to keep her but it didn't work out. I called her Daisy.

Thanks. She's my little girl. We've had her for 15 years. All our adult lives. She's being a really good big sister to Aston. He waits for her to go down the stairs or outside first. They took to each other like peas & carrots.

That's really good because often times when you have a dog who has that much age on them, they resent when a new dog is brought into the house. Those 2 sound like soul mates!

I really thought she wouldn't go for it, but she's always been kinda mellow. She even lets him eat off her plate (she's on a prescription diet) and he lets her eat out of his bowl.
