Hi, I'm Shelly and I just adopted a 1 & a half year old Beagle named Aston Martin. We've had him for about 3 weeks now. He loves his "little" big sister Daisy Mae (a 16 year old dachshund mix) and she loves him too.

Default Hello from VA

Hello everyone!
I am currently not a Beagle owner, but looking to get one very soon and I thought that joining this site would help me better understand that ups and downs before getting a beagle. I have adored beagles for quite some time and in the recent months I have been educating myself more and more about them. I recently graduated school in May and moved to the Virginia Beach area. I think this would be a wonderful place to have a beagle with it being so nice outside and since there is a lot to do. I am hoping to find a breeder relatively close by so I can have a beagle as my companion soon.

Dillon here: I'm an 11 month old neutered tri-colored Beagle from Charlotte NC. I am so handsome I'm often mistaken for a show dog! Now: FEED THE BEAGLE!!!

To find a responsible breeder can take up to a year or more. First you have find find breeders that show or field test (preferable both) their dogs. Health test their dogs and are active i the breed rescue and clubs. Then you interview them, visit them and request referances and check with them. The interview process can take at least 6 months. Then a wait for puppies can be another 6+ months wait.

Hi Everyone, my name is Paulo. I don't have a Beagle yet, but registered in the forum to learn more about the breed before adopting one, actually - two. My intention is to adopt two dogs.

I have been working from home for the past 4 years, and now that we got our own house, I really would like to get the dogs for us to make company to one another.

Hi there! I only have 1 Beagle but I work from home too so it is rather convienant for me. I still crate her during the day however to keep her out of trouble. I work from 8-4:30 so I put her in between 7:45 and 7:55 and take her out at 10:30 and put her back in at 12 and then she stays in there until my husband gets home at 3:00.

Welcome! If our adopting then fond a rescue that has 2 that are abonded. It happends alot when irresponsible breeders turn in liters that didn't sell or unkowledgable owners who give up in frustration becuase they got 2 puppies.

If you go through a breeder buy one at a time. rmeember to find a responsible breeder it can take over 6 months -1yr to get a puppy.

hey everyone! my name is Omar, I'm 27, i live in Atlanta, GA and my little baby girl, Bronx, is almost 2 years old. the story of how i met my angel is, i was on craigslist with my girlfriend at the time looking for a kitten (she wanted the kitten, i was helping her search). we were in the car and i was using her iphone, i saw a promising link but i clicked the wrong one, maybe i have fat fingers i dunno , but i accidentally clicked a link for a miniature beagle. i will never forget the second i saw this angel, posted next to a coca-cola can for perspective. we both melted. some hunter in northwest of us didn't need her and say she was too small?? i don't know, he was selling her for $200, she absolutely fell in love with her but said she didn't have the money. i pleaded with her that its okay and i'll buy it for her. and i did. and that was that.

she ended up breaking up with me and giving the dog back to me. i didn't care, i was happy to. she's seriously my everything, i'm like getting misty right now typing this cause i love her so much. haha anyway
