Default Hello from Cliff and Abby

Abby is a small tri-color Beagle who is getting on in years. I am having a hard time with her but have some great memories of this wonderful little girl. I wanted to share her with others while she is still with us and hear stories of others who have experience a full life with a Beagle. Abby was born in Red Rock, Oklahoma on about Oct 1st 2001. She grew to about 24 pounds and has raised 2 children and 6 Grand children...she only got in trouble with the law once but they let us keep her at home as we always had her records handy. She is a loving, stubborn, playful and grumpy old hound. I always wanted a beagle and I have never regretted having Abby in my life. I promised her years ago I would take of her to the very end and that isn't here yet...she's slowed down and can't get around like she used to but when I get down to her level and talk to her, she'll wag her tail. She stays pretty close to me when I'm home and always welcomes a good petting and hugs.

Welcome to you and Abby. I love the seniors. My first dog was a beagle. Got him when I was 4 years old. He lived to be 17. Great dog. Wishing you and Abby more good years.

Thanks for the warm welcome all...It is very difficult to report that I lost Abby on Saturday, May,20th after a month long ailment. At her age it came as no surprise but the pain of her loss is tremendous. The wife and I are debating on which direction to go right now, we do have a little Morkie who was Abby's little friend and kept her active for the last 4 years...up until then, she was an only child. Max is having a difficult time as well. at almost 16, I hoped she could hang on for many more years but it was not to be. I will check in from time to time. Even as a new sign up, Beagles have always been my favorite breed...that almost seems wrong because she wasn't a dog to me...she really was my little girl and a family member and I am still lost...very difficult time

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts. They definitely take a piece of our hearts with them. Please stay active on the board. We'd love to hear stories about Abby and of course Max too. It might help you to talk about Abby and remember happy times. Either way, stay and let us support you, in any way that we can. No one understands like someone who has been there.

Big hugs to you and your family!
