My puppy was diagnosed with this at 3 months old, however after a recent bout of an upset tummy the vet thinks its back again.
She has just finished 3 doses of panache but there is no improvement and I can't remember how long it took to work last time. Has anyone had any experience of this, it's making Lola poorly and I just want her too be well again she suffered enough the 1st time round.

Oh yes, my dog had a couple of bouts of it at a young age. It may take time to get over it. You could give the dog white rice, boiled chicken, some pumpkin (not pie filling) to keep the diet fairly bland until the tummy feels better. It's endemic in the area where I live-humans can get this so make sure you wash your hands thoroughy when cleaning up the dog poop. I would not let the dog lick you either. Hope your dog feels better soon

Jesse had it also, but he is an adult dog. I was told to give a powder medicine three days in a row, to wait four weeks and then to re-treat three days in a row again. We did this, and then tested a week after the last treatment. Jesse was Giardia free. I mixed the power with water and administered it with a syringe to make sure he got it all.
I hope you are able to rid your pup of the parasite and that s/he feels better soon. |
