First off I am so glad I found this website! I am new to this and also very new to being the proud mom of a beagle! Bullet is 11 months old and now suddenly has this blister or something on his mouth! Vets are closed and not sure if this is normal or something serious...your thought would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have anything he could of gotten into? The redness and what looks like blisters is not normal. Do you see anything on his tongue? Throat? Did you look around the house for anything disturbed? If he is doing anything different I would take him to an after hours vet.

You don't list where you live but most communities have a after hours emergency vet hospital within an hour. Do a quick search and you may find one nearby. I know I have three within an hour and a half from me.

Rubbing it on something or caught the skin on something? Do you have any other animals who may have scratched or bit?
For now clean it with at least water. Honestly I would find a vet or animal hospital that is open tomorrow. |

Does it seem to be bothering him? Can he eat and drink? Is he rubbing it?
I was reading about warts and learned that they are common in the mouth. Try looking up warts in dogs and see what you find. I believe warts are associated with a virus. Good luck! |

I haven't seen anything like that, looks like its inflamed and possibly uncomfortable. I would call the vet and get it checked. Hope he is okay!

I just had three warts removed from Belle. They didn't look anything like this. After chatting with my hubby we wondered if he didn't get bit by a spider. My Lena has a tendency to catch spiders and mice. When she got bit by the spider it was red and bumpy.

It doesn't look like it just happened-when did you notice it? If it is a spider bite it can cause a serious infection and just being open like that. Get her seen by a vet. It will be hard to heal if it gets bigger.
Let us know what the vet says. |
