Hi, we have Tobey who is now 5 and a bit months. Its been tough but he's amazing and we are already thinking ahead to next year and the possibility of getting him a playmate.
He hasn't been neutered yet and I like the idea of breeding him and us taking one of the puppies but I wasn't sure if this causes issues? I read somewhere about dads and their sons not living well together and fighting for dominance. Would he know that the puppy was his? Would a girl pup be better than a boy? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

unless yu are showing or trialing him to achieve a goal to prove he is of breed standard, optimal health and can do what he is bred for. then go for it. otherwise. no. breeding is ALOT of work to do it properly. its alot more then puttng 2 beagles together. leave it to the pros. health testing (not a vet check) std tests (yes dogs carry them) field trials/shows are all expensive parts of breeding.
