Two years ago our cherished and first pet of our marriage passed away after being bitten by a brown recluse...Sable was a lab mix and 15 years old...broke our hearts and the heart of our second dog (also lab mix)..so much so that Cady would not eat..she had never lived without Sable. My father said a beagle would be a great pet and we went in search of one...we found one on petfinder who had had a bad start...apparently she was bought from a breeder by a young man who abused her...his mother saved the dog at 12 weeks and asked her friend who lived near us to help find her a home...because they didn't have the papers not many wanted her...but when we saw her we could care less about papers and knew she needed out of where she was (this family fostering her raised great danes and the pups were attacking her!) so we brought her home and she loves running the forests, tracking rabbits, hanging around our horses...she's a great girl...unfortunately she prefers to sleep in our bed under our covers, are we the only ones?? I did not know beagles were soooo clingy..but it could be due to her prior abuse as well..when we got her she had a cut going down her back (apparently from the first owner) and it's healed nicely but she is sensitive if touched back there....other than that she's easy going and a hoot..Cady although 65 pounds plays sooo well with her!! They are two peas in a pod! :)

She is a beautiful tri-color beagle with blue/grey instead of black. But I am trying to figure out what else she has or if she is a full "Blue Tick Beagle" that I have seen on the web. I am not intending to breed and in fact had her spayed last week. I just want to know for myself. Her ears seem smaller and snout is different than any pics I have seem of the "Blue Tick Beagle". But I am not an expert for sure.

We are the proud new parents to two beautiful lemon beagle boys (they're both neutered), one is 3 years old and the other is 10 months. We've had them in our home for about a month and love them more each day :-)

Can anyone answer some questions for us? Our boys love taking walks with us but go *BONKERS* when they see another dog, so much so that we are having a trainer come to our home because we disrupted our first obedience class so much that we're too stressed out to take them back. Any ideas on how to help curb their barking? The 10 month old responds to treats some of the time when we try to get his attention (but not always) and when we're on a walk the 3 year old isn't bribed by anything (he won't take a treat, isn't interested in toys, just what he wants to see/smell/bay at). We've tried using a squirt bottle on him, but it's impossible when one of us has to walk both of them to juggle them, pulling them away from their distractions, while trying to get the spray bottle.

He's very playful, energetic, curious and loving.

I've had her since May of 09, and it's been so much fun to watch her grow up. I'm currently in grad school and am in the process of joining the Army. I am pretty physically active and I take Kenra running with me 3 days a week.
I grew up on a farm with Beagles, but none of them were ever house dogs. Having my own dog is something new, but I love it. She is my baby! I went to the store to just look at puppies because I was having a bad day, and I ended up coming home with this...

How can you say no to that face!? There is never a dull moment with her!
