Natty Boh found his hound voice

I know. I know. It doesn't seem like a big deal to those of you with PB beagles who already sound like hounds. I was kind of disappointed that Natty Boh was more of a high pitched yapper.

He was in his crate today, when my college girls arrived home. I met them at the door. He started to bark, which he always does when somebody comes home. But then....it happened. It started to go into a howl and then turned into a bay. It was so adorable. We looked at each other and smiled. But, he hasn't done it again. YET.

Oh there is nothing more beautiful sounding than a beagle bay. When I come home from work I get 5 or 6 with a coonhound in the mix. Sweet sound to my tired soul. Each one has a very distinct sound and duration. A couple really put a lot of effort into their bay. I love it when they bend their heads back and really get into it. Sweet music.

Just wait when he gets his first scent and he bays for that. His tail will tell the whole story. Its fun to watch.

My two bark and they bay but my girl's favorite thing is to sit on her rear and sing to the neighbors.

Me and my boyfriend have a laugh joining in and Millie loves it...just like she's in a real pack, it's not as much fun when she wakes you up during the night doing it for no reason haha. It decently is a unique sound...god knows what the naighbours must think (what a bunch of crack pots properly) haha
