I've read a lot that Beagles markings change as they move from puppy to adult hood. Brynn has been with us 4 weeks now and I haven't noticed any change. Just wonder if anyone had any experience with this and when it would likely happen.

I have two beagles that I adopted when they were each 8 weeks. Two separate litters, parts of the country, and 1 and a half years apart.
Both have changed over the years and are now 3 and 4. My tri was almost all black to less and my female with very unique markings has only changed slightly. I noticed most of the changes within the first year so depending on age maybe you won't notice much. I have heard that beagles change their whole life too. ![]() This is my very first post ever! Maybe I can figure out how to post pictures I will. ![]() ![]()

My first beagle Tess changed colors her entire life. She was probably 75% black when I got her as a pup. Then within the first 6-8 months a lot of brown came out especially in her head. By her third birthday she was gray in her face. That's what made me fall in love with gray muzzles. Belle who is eleven never changed colors except a little gray/whitening in her face. The rest of my pack I got later in their lives so I'll never know what their color changes were. Well except gray of course...

My first dog was a PB beagle. He was a tri - black ears, tan face, white stripe on his head. His body and tail were black, with tan legs and white paws, black tail with white tip. Had him for 17 years. His coloring never changed much. Seems I remember that white stripe getting more narrow. Like My6 said....."The infamous graying." But I love the seniors and hardly noticed.

Feels like Tobey is always changing a little bit. When we first got him he was almost completely black on top and white underneath with hardly any tan bits. Now his face is much lighter and the tan patches are at the tops of his legs.
