I've been searching for some time for the right breeder and pup to welcome to our family. We really would like a male tricolor beagle and want to know we are not supporting backyard breeders or puppymills. I'm even hesitant on individuals who do too many litters a year. We would like a nice companion beagle and want to know testing for hereditary has been done.
Does anyone recommend someone in Florida? We are willing to make it over to Georgia or South Carolina too (driving distance locations in a day or two) as we would like to meet the owner and see how the pups are kept. I've just heard horror stories and really dont want to support those actions. Shipping the puppy without meeting is soo foreign to me too. Thank you in advance. |

Hi Ilara, I can't really help but in the UK the Kennel Club has a list of assured breeders where all breeders have to meet the breed standards with the dogs they breed. I'm not sure how the Kennel Club works across the pond but you could maybe contact them for a recommended breeder.
You also find the best breeders are very keen dog showers as they aim to breed champions. This could be another point of contact for you or maybe look for a beagle club as they will be involved in the showing of dogs. We spent a long time researching breeders and tbh it's easy to spot the difference between good and bad. Price is the main one. You will pay a bit more for a dog of good pedigree but you can see from my picture of Brynn it's well worth it ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
