We live in the city. We alternate different kinds of exercise: jogging in the park (3 miles) three days a week and going to fenced-in dog runs on the other days. I feel that my new rescue beagle (3 years?) is adequately exhausted and spends a fair amount of time sleeping.

We took Rascal to a fenced dog park yesterday and she got along very well with all the dogs there. Hubby took her down to the school yesterday and practiced off leash recall. Next time we go to a dog park we will go to an unfenced one. Her recall is great! Hubby is planning on taking her on hikes with him too. So far she is like an energizer bunny and never seems to run down. At 4 yo I would think she would get tired eventually!
