Hello I am new to the site. and have a beagle puppy question. We bred are tri color female to a red and white male, half puppies were born tri color and half were born black and white. They are now 3 weeks old. When can we expect the black and white puppies to start showing some color? As of right now 4 of them do not have a spot of brown anywhere.

I've got two-week-old pups and one of them isn't showing any brown yet, but I am 100% positive he will get it. When we got Annie she was 8 weeks and still showing very little brown, she was several months old before the color really came in.

As you can see from Cassie's picture she is mainly black and white. She is now 10 1/2 months and recently her head has been getting more reddish-brown. I started seeing the different color in her undercoat about 6 weeks ago so I knew the change was coming. Her back however remains quite black. The breeder did list her as a tri-color even though she was mainly blk and white when we got her at 8 weeks.
