Default New addition

So we have had our Beagle Lily for about 2 1/2 years now as an only child. Four days ago we got another dog this one is a Dachschund named Grace. Grace seems to be suffering from severe depression after being taken away from her home (she is 2 years). She seems afraid of Lily and Lily mostly just ignores Grace. Is there any way to get them used to each other or is it just going to take time?

Our shih tzu has always ignored the beagles, she flat out doesn't care about them, but I would be first to say she's pretty atypical.

Four days isn't very long, especially if Grace is depressed. Besides, ignoring each other is better than arguing!

Give Grace a bit more time to settle in and get used to her new home, they may surprise you.

They are touching each other, which is an indication that they find comfort in each other. Give it time - they will be fine together.
