Question New Baby Beagle shopping list???

So I have been reading about and researching Beagles for some time now, and was hoping to bring one home in a couple of months time BUT due to unforeseen circumstances we may now be bringing a little one home tomorrow...

What do we need to prepare our home for our new arrival?x

I have been dog proofing for a few weeks now, the kitchen area mostly as this will be pups main residence. Everything is out of reach, i just need to move the laundry basket upstairs where pup will not roam freely by herself!!

On my immediate shopping list i have:
A crate
Food/Water Bowls
Collar & Lead
Grooming Brush
Teething Blanket
Kongs (and Peanut Butter lol)
Oh and Food (Raw)

And as soon as possible I also hope to get some locks/security (similar to those used in toddler proofing) for our kitchen cupboards and drawers.
And a name tag x

What have I forgotten (or maybe not forgotten but just forgotten to list)?

I am a bit nervous now and starting to doubt myself , I thought I would have more time to plan and now I have to hope that all my good intentions will just come naturally and that my head will rule my heart when it comes to training xxx

Pics will follow tomorrow... Promise xxx

Don't doubt yourself, it sounds like you have a very good plan in place. The dog tags you can actually make in just a few minutes at stores like Petsmart. I made some there recently, came out really nice.

Only thing I can really add is to maybe grab a beagle book, one that has training and health tips.

Start with your potty training plan ASAP. Praise the good outside potties.

Have fun! Can't wait to see pics.

Oh that is so exciting.
Don't fret too much. You sound like you have a good handle on what you need, and I would simply add puppy pads........they really help things.

Thanks guys, makes me feel a little better

And yes, potty training!! Thank the lord we have hard floor tiles in the kitchen and laminate flooring downstairs... I suppose I'd better get some super duper cleaning agent to clean up any accidents too lol x

At the moment I'm just so excited about being a mummy xx xx

Lots of paper towels and cleaning spray for the carpet.

I would also recommend carpet spray and paper towels! Also you can try using puppy pads for training your dog. Some people immediately start with training outside but if there's a chance your dog will pee inside, I would recommend training pads so the puppy knows to always go in the same spot. If you can put it on tile floor, that's a plus... Ally used to miss the pad by an inch sometimes and we had to use a TON of carpet cleaner.
