Hi there! Some of you may have seen my post in the introduction section, so you might already know i am due to get my puppy in about 7 weeks time
![]() I've been doing a lot of research into the breed and shocked to find the amount of variations in colours that you can get! It got me thinking and i know its going to be a while before i will know for sure - but im dying to know how my baby will turn out! I've seen the puppies a few times now and they are only a week old - but to me they look like a dark chocolate colour when they are in the light. I looked at this website COLORS: Pictures and Info about Beagle Colors and noticed there is a chocolate Tri-colour version - they look gorgeous and alot like mine but i dont believe there to be any chocolate tri's in the blood line of the parents. Here are a few pics, the first is the mother of my pup, second is the father and the rest are the puppies. What do you guys think? Also i am obviously from the UK so maybe the chocolate ones arent even available over here as i have never seen them before. Whatever she turns out like she will be beautiful but im just really curious!!

All beagles are black and white at birth. I think they will have brown in them due to the dad's coloring. It will be intersting to see how much white they get since the mom is such a light lemon beagle.

Yes she is quite a light colour, she's very pretty. I think the dad must have the stronger gene.
I know that most of the black fades to a tan colour on the traditional Tri-coloured dogs. Here is a pic of two of the pups from the last litter with the same mum and dad Last edited by ladylaura23; 07-12-2010 at 04:04 PM. |

Colour doesn't matter a jot- just look at the little darlings!! Monty was nearly all black then went very tan- much like the little bundle of gorgeousness in 'baker'smom's profile pic there. I'd guess they're heading that way too. So lucky- enjoy their puppyhood

I have some very sad news...
One of the two pups was very small and didnt seem to be sucking from her mother, so the breeder started bottle feeding her. Unfortunatly she passed through the night two nights ago This means we will no longer will be having the other one as she wants to keep her to breed from in the future. Im am devastated for the puppy but know it was just natures way. I was already aware of a litter nearby that had been born so i went to see them yesterday, picked one and put a deposit down on a little boy. We bring him home in 3 weeks. Still so sad for the little girl, but i know the one thats left, and my boy will both have brilliant lives. Heres a few pics of the new pup |
