Default Newpaper article :Beagle's top bad dog list.

In our Sunday paper this week
Beagles top bad dog list:
Naughties dog breed :
1. Beagles
2. Labrador
3. Boxer
4. Staffordshire terrier
5. German Shepherd
6. Jack russel
7. Maltese
8. Shar pei
9. Cocker spaniel
10. Kelpie /cattle dog

The article says:

If they were kids , they'd be told to sit on the naughty step. But dog handlers the nation's naughties breeds would behave better if they were trained.
The pint-sized beagle has emerged as Australia's naughtiest dog breed.
It outranks labradors and boxers in digging up lawns, chewing on toys and running amok. Staffordshire bullterriers and german shepherds were just as guilty when it came to creating havoc according to a survery by dog trainers Hanrob.
The study , which looked at the behaviour of thousands of canines also revealed the most common bad habits, included barking loudly, chewing on toys, pulling on the lead and jumping on people.

Since I read this on Sunday every time Bazel starts to go out and bark at all and sundry like he does and say to him See this is why your on the naughties breed list it's your fault Lol. I must admit Bazel was a very naughty puppy he was guilty of running off with my soft toys [ and we didn't have kids then], he took off with our socks, he destroyed my watch band, my husband had to concrete all around our fence because he kept getting out. He has been through many beds over the years as he chews them and tries to wear them. Merlin on the other hand wasn't that naughty except when it came to his tummy . But naughty or not I love them. I told my hubby when he showed me the article Well I am offended what about being the cutest breed that is what they should be .

It's amazing that knowing they can be the naughtiest dogs, they are also in the list of the top 10 most desired dogs. We all must like naughty.

Oh, I think that beagle naughtiness is probably an international trait. They're so cute, though, that we just can't resist them.

They certainly are. I think naughtiness is part of the cuteness too.

The problem is people buy them not understanding the breed and what they need. I don't know that I will get another Beagle soon, because of just losing Lillie, but it is a top consideration. I will know more now than I did 2 yrs ago for sure!

Oh and Stray Jack is considered a *Jackabee*. He is worst than my 2 Beagles and Boxer are put together! He climbs the fence and loves to steal anything that the neighbors don't have nailed down. As a matter of fact a couple of weeks ago a neighbor rang our doorbell and said to my hubby (and I quote), Dude your dog has a jar stuck on his head. Apparently Stray Jack found a plastic gallon mayo jug and stuck his head in to get that last lick.........and he got stuck. Nobody could catch him and that was a sight him running with that jug on his head!!!!

I think the naughtiness is playfulness and cleverness, which keep owners entertained and have kept beagles at our side throughout the years. They're loyal, yet they keep us on our toes. Other dog breeds are nice, but I think I'll be stuck on beagles for a good while.
