Default This Momma is nervous!

Please help me ease my nerves!

Moose is 1 1/2 years old and has never spent the night away from us. We have to board him this weekend and I am feeling so bad. I'm worried that he will be freaked out all weekend. I'm also worried that he will be super mad at us when we return. He has become so attached to me since I've stopped working.

Please tell me I'm being crazy. What has your experience been?

I've boarded my dog and in fact she's scheduled for Easter weekend coming up. I include a day of camp so the dog can run around and play with other dogs during the day. Send a new chew toy along and don't worry. Your dog will be fine.

First, your dog will not be mad at you. I promise!! Your pup will be fine. Other dogs to play with is always a good thing. Don't worry about it. Moose will be fine.

I know it's silly of me to worry. You're right, he'll probably have the time of his life! Thank you both

Of course you will worry, that's what makes you a good beagle parent. I had to leave Vazzle all day at the vet for testing and I was a wreck. Turned out she was just fine and the staff said she had fun. Can you bring him to the kennel with you for a quick visit so he sees it ahead of time? Be sure to send his favorite toys and blanket or something with your scent.

You might take a familiar blanket or toy that is not expensive so he can cuddle with it is he misses your scent.

It's normal to be concerned. It's just a few days, right? He will be fine.

I have someone stay at my house, when I go away. That is what works for me. My dogs don't have to get used to a strange place, or a new routine.

Yes, we are just going to be gone for a couple of days.

We brought his blanket and his favorite chew for him. When we dropped him off there was another dog there for him to play with and he'll have more friends to play with tomorrow.

I'm feeling a lot better about it.

Thanks everyone!!

Does the facility have a webcam where you can log into a computer and see your dog? Some do which helps the concerns.
