Hi:
We are interested in adopting an adult beagle in the Winnipeg, MB area. We would like a beagle who will manage in a home with a nine-year old and working parents. Thanks! |

sometimes if you want something you gotta go get it! i drove from winnipeg to south of winkler for gordie it was a 2 hour drive there. trust me beagles make it worth it. they are amazing family dogs. just be patient with them and be as stubborn as they are.

Thanks Darren. The good news is that we are a family of stubborn people. We had an adoption lined up and a dog to pick up this weekend, but right as we were leaving to pick him up the family called to say they decided to keep him. It was a low point for us, but served to show us who much we want this. We are including some parts of the US in our search, but we can't really take advantage of Beagle Paws since the transport fees from Nfld and Ab are just a bit too steep for us. Sort of shame since a co-worker I had in Alberta worked to bring it there before she died a few years ago.

Lol we had to drive 5 hours one way to get lily when she was a pup...but it was worth it. Luckily his sister lived near the area we picked her up at so we could stay there for the night and then start back home the next day instead of doing it all in one day.

keep looking i am sure you will find your hound soon enough. and when you do you will find unconditional love. beagles are very smart and so much fun. they have a personality all their own. i know its not the best but i picked my gordie up from a breeder and have loved him ever since. you can always check kijiji and see if anyone has an older beagle for adoption.
