I agree with araine, don't let him off the lead, and get a harness for him rather than a collar. Casie our youngest, hadn't ever been walked on a leash before we got him....and we had to train him to walk nicely. Phew, thought it was going to kill me, he is a strong little bugger. But with the harness, he doesn't seem to pull as much, and will sit before we go on. I have arthritis in my knees, so it's not so easy to walk either of them, we have two beags. As for the potty training...OMG! if I could find a magic solution, I'd give it to you. Casie was trained in a kennel situation with a long run...he is a breeder's pup, and he has regressed to needing to be in his crate also. I am sure that with the cold weather we have had, no one wants to poo or pee outside...but that's where dogs go. We've had to start over also....not fun, but necessary. Unless of course you like cleaning carpets all the time. Let me know if you hit on a solution to this problem.
